We are pleased to report that over 100 enthusiastic participants—including District Officers, Presidents, Club Chairs, and Rotaractors—gathered for the District 3450 Vibrant Workshop, a landmark event that marked the very first tri-committee endeavor in the district. Chaired by PP Vivian Chan of the District Membership Committee and AG Angela Wong of the District Public Relations Committee, the workshop brought together the District Membership Committee, District Public Image Committee, and District Community Service Committees for the first time in a collaborative effort to showcase how their respective resources and expertise can help clubs achieve and sustain vibrancy. From the warm welcome to the final farewell, the energy in the room was palpable, and the overwhelming turnout was a testament to the growing desire among Rotarians to build stronger, more dynamic clubs.

The morning commenced with a series of impactful knowledge sessions delivered by an exceptional lineup of district leaders. Participants gained invaluable insights from PDG Eric Chak, DS Elizabete Fong, and PP Angela Hui of the District Membership Committee, who shared practical strategies for attracting and retaining members. PDG Keith Chow of the District Public Image Committee captivated the audience with powerful storytelling techniques and brand-building tips, while CDS Alexander Cheung of the District Community Service Committee inspired everyone with real-world examples of how impactful service projects can become the engine for club growth and visibility. These sessions equipped attendees with fresh ideas and actionable takeaways that they could immediately apply to their own clubs. Following these presentations, P Thomas Chan pulled all of the knowledge resources together, demonstrating how the three pillars—Membership, Public Image, and Community Service—work in unison to build a vibrant and sustainable club. The session was then brought to life with an interactive Kahoot quiz hosted by PP Helen Chan, which tested participants’ understanding of the material in a fun and engaging way. The friendly competition sparked laughter and lively energy and reinforced the key learnings in preparation for the afternoon session.

Following the knowledge sessions, PP Stephen Cheung, Chair of the Wang Fuk Care & Support Committee, presented the much-anticipated launch of Rotary ConNet—a groundbreaking needs-matching platform designed to connect NGOs with potential donors of supplies for shared causes. This innovative initiative promises to streamline community support and maximize the impact of Rotary’s service efforts across the district.

The workshop then transitioned to an engaging Panel Sharing featuring vibrant club leaders IPP Athene Cheung of RC Smart Hong Kong, IPP Jason Chan of RC The Hub Hong Kong, PP Welson Tevanotai of RC Harmony & Prosperity, and PP Synthia Chan of RC Macau, who openly shared their personal journeys, challenges, and hard-won lessons in building clubs that people genuinely want to join. Their candid stories and practical advice resonated deeply with the audience, sparking lively discussion and leaving participants feeling motivated and empowered.

In the afternoon, participants dove into two dynamic breakout discussion sessions hosted by DS Sammi Lam, DS Elizabeth Fong, DDS Jamie Chu, PP Angela Hui, and PP Helen Chan, which were met with tremendous enthusiasm. Working in small groups, attendees first assessed their own clubs against the Vibrant Club criteria, followed by a second session where they used the Rotary Action Plan framework to formulate concrete strategies for growth. The breakout sessions were enjoyed by all, with participants engaging wholeheartedly in robust discussions, exchanging ideas, and learning from one another’s experiences. The session concluded with an enthusiastic and uplifting sharing segment, where members from various clubs proudly presented their vibrant club successes, offered practical tips, and celebrated the achievements of their fellow Rotarians—proof that our district is brimming with passion, creativity, and commitment to continuous improvement.

A scrumptious lunch was offered to our participants by French Angel, and participants were kept energized throughout the day with delightful tea and snacks generously sponsored by PDG Keith Chow, AG Angela Wong, and PP Vivian Chan. AI translation was provided by KATO, ensuring that all sessions were accessible to our bilingual audience. The workshop ran smoothly, thanks to the dedication and professionalism of the entire Organizing Committee, whose countless hours of planning and coordination paid off. Heartfelt gratitude is extended to every speaker, panelist, participant, and volunteer who contributed to this resounding success. The Vibrant Workshop may have concluded, but the conversations, connections, and commitments made that day will continue to ripple through our clubs for years to come.

Together, we are building a brighter, bolder, and more vibrant Rotary!
