On July 25, District Leaders, Rotarians, youth leaders, and guests gathered at St. Francis University from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM for the District Youth Service Seminar.
District Governor Jimmy Lau delivered an inspiring Keynote Address, setting an energizing tone for the day. District Youth Chair PP Flora Tsang and Vice Chair PP Eddy Lo then led an engaging session that highlighted District 3450’s deep commitment to empowering the next generation.
The seminar provided a clear overview of key youth initiatives, introducing participants to the impact of Junioract, Interact, the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), and the Youth Cultural Exchange program, as well as Rotary’s first strategic collaboration with the Child Development Initiative Alliance (CDIA).
A major highlight was an inspiring fireside chat featuring PP Rosa Pang from the Rotary Club of Happy Valley and P Andrew Wong from the Rotary Club of E-Club of Lantau. Drawing on their rich experience—PP Rosa as a senior school supervisor and P Andrew whose club sponsors 16 Interact clubs—they shared practical strategies for building vibrant youth clubs and mentoring young leaders.
To round out the seminar, participants received vital, actionable training on Rotary’s Youth Protection policy, designed to ensure District programs continue to offer a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for tomorrow’s leaders. The session was conducted by the Youth Protection Team led by PP Felicity Yeung and PN Timothy Wong from the RC of Happy Valley, supported by AG Cecilia Wong of the RC of Macau Central, who leveraged their legal expertise to explain the relevant laws in both Hong Kong and Macau.
We were also delighted to welcome representatives from the Rotary Action Group For Peace (RAGFP) and the UNESCOHK Glocal Peace Centre, who introduced the Peace School Program 2026–27 to our attendees.
